You already know what you want to be
Janice Hewitt, Observer TEENage writer

Many teens choose career fields purely for the wealth. Yes, it is true. We all ask, how much can I make in this job as opposed to a next. But if that is the only way to go about choosing your career, you will never truly enjoy your job.
This can be attributed to the fact that your personality has a lot to do with your career choice.

Psychologist Dr Leahcim Semaj states that your personality can help to determine your suitability for a job. "Personality profiles can be used to determine the suitability of job applicants, to help people guide their future career development."

One sure way to know if you are making the right choice, is to get a part-time job in the field that you have an interest or would wish to pursue a career in. If you see that the field you are pursuing does not match your real prsonality, then you might want stop, and contemplate a career change.

Have you ever wondered why lawyers talk at the speed they do with such confidence? Or why journalists are so aggressive on the job, eager to flock you with questions until you get confused and you are caught in their little trap? Well it's not by chance or by luck it's their personality that makes them so good at what they do.
So what does personality profile show?

. If you are the class clown and you also have an interest in the way people think, maybe a career in Laugh Therapy would suit you. Yes. Laughter Therapists encourage people to think happy thoughts, and make themselves laugh. It's good for your circulation, your mental health and your spiritual well-being.

. For the quiet, introverted (someone who is shy, quiet and unable to make friends easily) teens among us, career choices are not limited to being scientists or librarians. Knowing that you have a quiet personality does not limit your other interests. Do you like taking treks in nature and observing the eco-system, then maybe a career as a Vermiculturist may suit you. A Vermiculturist is a worm farmer. If you think of yourself as environmentally friendly this probably won't be a shock to you, but worms are a really good way of decomposing rotten material and creating compost!

. Well, if you are a 'techie', that is, you are always in with the latest technology, having to explain it to your friends, that shows you may want to pursue a career in emerging or developing technology/software.

Personality types and career choices are married to each other. It is paramount that you discover yourself; find out about you, this could save you millions of dollars and years at school.

If the personality profiling is not for you, look into yourself and decide what do you like most of all. What are your hobbies? What personality type are you? Do you like to listen and give advice? Do you like to administer to other peoples need? Do you enjoy disassembling stuff and try putting them together? Maybe you should be a counsellor, a philanthropist or an engineer.

It is important that one discovers their personality type, as it is beneficial not only in your career choice but also in relationships and friendships. So before you waste time in school pursuing subjects that you do not enjoy, take a personality test.
