A New Year, A Better You

Vanessa Bailey

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

One of the great things about ringing in the new year is taking the opportunity to let go of the past and look ahead toward the future. With that in mind, I have devised a few plans to help you make 2009 a better year for you in different ways.

School: For this new year, aim for better grades and higher achievements. Start reading more, ask for advice from teachers and peers.

Free Time: Everyone works differently, so the best use of your free time really depends on you. So I would say use your free time productively, take time to study or read leisurely to improve vocabulary or to improve your beauty or health.

Health: Use this new year to endorse a healthier you. The quality of our life is determined by the quality of our health. Dieting, eating healthier, exercise and resting are some ways to promote a healthier lifestyle.

Relationships: Whatever you pay attention to grows, and whatever you ignore dies. Keep priority in the ones you love, if they left tomorrow how would you feel?

Start Thinking About Your Personal Growth: Set goals and aim for them. Determine from now what you will like to achieve this year. Are there major exams coming up? Are anxiously awaiting your place in a university?

Change Your Life by living like tomorrow was your last day: Stop taking things for granted. Start telling important people in your life that you love them. Be grateful for everything you have, there are so many others who do not have much.

Change Your Life by establishing a relationship with God: Become a member of a church, find out what your purpose on this earth is all about. Get involved.
