Flow is now one of the major sponsors of 'Team Jamaica' the national basketball team as the group officially starts its journey to London for the 2012 Olympics, and more immediately, the Caribbean Basketball Championship (CBC) tournament which will be held in Tortola, BVI from June 28-July 4, 2009.

The announcement was made last Friday, where the NBA officially introduced Jamaica's new national coaches and players, who will be representing the island.

Speaking at the event Sharon Roper, director of marketing at Flow noted that basketball is on the cusp of an exciting era in Jamaica and that it is steadily joining the ranks of other major sports that will propel the nation to regional and international recognition.

"We at Flow are proud to join the team in making this transition. We view our association with the National Team and with the National Basketball Association as more than just a sponsorship. We see it as an investment in local basketball and also as a way to assist in developing the sport and exposing more of our top local talent to both local and international audiences," Roper said.

Flow recently sponsored the very successful national Champions Cup which received unprecedented attention locally, regionally and internationally. It is expected that Flow will also help propel local basketball into the national, regional and international sporting arena generating similar excitement for the sport.
