Teenage

Flexxing with: EVE

Chavon Panton

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

There's no clear-cut way to describe Jihan 'Eve' Jeffers. She's the consummate industry lady - the rapper, the writer, the singer, the producer and the list goes on. With her noticeable tattoos and her French-manicured nails gently tapping against her legs, this sassy hip hop diva has got TEENage all caught up by her gorgeous smile and dazzling persona when TEENage got the chance to 'flexx' with her.

Eve is beyond the shadow of a doubt one of the most productive artistes in the business today. She has written songs for everyone and is definitely the bomb that represents a mature breed of female hip hop artistes.

"This place is the best place in the world and I just had to come," Eve said, while expressing her love for Jamaica. Eve told TEENage that everywhere in Jamaica is her favourite, but she has never gone to Portland, a parish she states she really wants to visit.

Separate and apart from her love for Jamaica, Eve also told TEENage that her highly anticipated album titled Flirt is set to be released this summer. "I also did a movie which is set to be released in October of this year with actress Drew Barrymore, which I am very excited about," Eve said.

Eve, who expressed her love for Jamaican artistes, told TEENage that she would love to do a colloborative album featuring some of her favourites such as Lady Saw, Mavado, Buju Banton, Queen Ifrica and Busy Signal among others.

With her unconventional approach on life, Eve says that it's life that influences her music the most. She also added that family is very important and that over the years she has gotten better at balancing family with work - "due to the good friends around me and praying to God the almighty".

When asked about her everyday style, with a smile she said, "I don't follow trends, trends follow me! I tend to put my own spin on what I wear - my style is just free."

Eve has unquestionably emerged as a human wake-up call, a real-deal bundle of sass and style that does things her way. The delightfully bundled star radiates authentic girl-power with her distinctly female declarations about the struggles that women in the music industry face when they are a product of confidence and success (which she is).

A beacon of male success
