Jamaica-born, New York-based designer Courtney Washington unveiled a few pieces of his new, island-inspired women's wear collection at the recent Saint International Fashion Face of the Caribbean Competition at the Courtleigh Auditorium. Washington, a graduate of the New York Fashion Institute, opened his first boutique, Courtney Washington Store, in Brooklyn, New York in the late-90s. While the designer told AW that the collection should be available locally in a few months' time, he said pieces from previous collections can be purchased across the United States in boutiques like 7th Ave in Tennessee, Posh in Boston, and Jazzy Giraffe boutique in Virginia.
