BLIND dates are one thing, because you do not know what you are getting yourself into. But to actually meet someone, assess them, consent to a date and then having it blow up, is something else.

There are bad dates and there are BAD dates. This week we asked readers to share their worst.

Morris S, 28:

The worst was when I took someone out and bought half of a jerk chicken to share. It's like she didn't know we were to share and I watched her eat it off, then asked after she was finished if I had wanted some. I just said no and that I was feeling sick, then left.

Judith B, 42:

I went to a movie with this guy and he talked out half the movie. At intermission I just told him I was going to the ladies' room and left him in the theatre.

Carl S, 37:

My worst date never really happened. I invited a girl out on a date. I was well-dressed and dapper, looking forward to it. We were supposed to meet in front of Carib Cinema because we were going to watch a movie. I stood there waiting until the show was almost finished. She never turned up. So she post me right in front of Carib!

Carla M, 43:

This guy invited me out and he was supposed to pick me up at my workplace. He turned up on a bicycle! Need I say more?

Lloyd G, 33:

I took a girl out once. We had something to eat and then we went back to her place. She had liked me from a long time and she didn't look bad, so I figured the date was surely going to end well. We started getting it on and from the moment we started she was moaning loudly and carrying on with a lot of noise. I knew she was pretending because it wasn't that great. I just told her to stop the noise, and got up in the middle of it and left. I never called her again, or returned her calls.

Tameka C, 30:

I went on a blind date. We arranged to meet at a restaurant. When we finally met it was my ex. I didn't know it was him until he showed up. We tried to tolerate each other but in the end I left. That was the worst. There's a reason he was my ex.

Dwayne Williams, 23:

My worst date would have to be that particular evening when I sat outside Carib cinema waiting on that special person and she never showed up.

Paula C, 32:

It was Valentine's night, we were going to the movies. He showed up at my door dressed head to toe in red and white stripes, looking like Beetlejuice. I had to go to Carib with him looking like that, and worse, I saw some of my friends from school.

Judith, 22:

He took me to Fridays and said I could order whatever I wanted. After we finished we were waiting for the bill, when he suggested we just leave, as they wouldn't notice. He actually got up, ready to go. I took out my card and paid the bill. He didn't even have the decency to look embarrassed.
