Unlikely colour combinations and sheer outfits were in vogue at the launch of Dream Weekend at the Tinson Pen Aerodrome last Tuesday. AW spotted a bevy of ladies who were fashionably clad for the occasion. We share highlights of a few of our favourites as well as their style picks for summer.

Noelle Smikle

The jumpsuit re-emerged a few years ago and it looks like this trend is here to stay. Noelle opted for a breezy jumpsuit with on-trend animal print pattern. She paired this with a multi-strand purple necklace, teal thong sandals and a teal purse.

Her fashion must-haves this summer:

Nikolette Williams

The elegant choice of Williams certainly did not go unnoticed by our shutterbug. She wore a long-sleeved taupe Arden B top — which accentuated her waist perfectly — with a red body-con Bebe skirt and mauve peep-toe wedges. She paired the seemingly unlikely colours with ease, proving that you don't have to wear items of the same colour to complete your look.

Her fashion must-haves this summer:

This summer the trendy item that I want to add to my closet is a breezy dress, which is short at the front but longer in the back. This first store I will be checking for this type of dress is FLIRT boutique.

Andrene Wells

Bright and cheerful hues have graced the runways of well-acclaimed fashion designers all year and are still popular for summer. Wells must have caught on to this trend as she opted for bubblegum pink leggings, which she wore with a multi-coloured sheer top.

I really love experimenting with colours. I can't wait to go shopping at Material World this summer so that I can add more brightly hued dresses to my collection.

Ashley Smith

The understated sophistication of a nude dress makes it easy to have fun with your accessories. This is exactly what Smith did with her fierce animal print heels with neon pink accents.

Samantha Rae

Joining the throngs of fashionistas who opted for on-trend sheer tops in bright colours was Mailpac Senior Manager Samantha Rae. She paired her burnt orange and mustard sheer top with matching orange pants and mustard accessories.

Her fashion must-haves this summer:

I think sheer tops and even sheer dresses are really in this summer. So those are definitely on my shopping list. I also think wedges have made a huge comeback and they are very comfortable and trendy!

Jay-Ann Jackson

Perhaps inspired by the colours of autumn, mustard has been making its way into most designers' collections this season. Jay-Ann, being a designer herself, rocked a low-cut mustard blazer with a fold-over lapel and padded shoulders from her own collection, which she paired with black leggings and on-trend animal print heels by Bamboo.

Her fashion must-haves this summer:

This summer I will definitely be making my way to Bridget sandals. I will also be picking up Yahdie Conscious swimwear at Style Savvy boutique.

Shadae Woolcock

The body-con skirt is ideal for any woman who isn't afraid to show off her curves. This blue body-con skirt with a subtle black pattern worked perfectly with the black off-the shoulder top worn by Woolcock.

Her fashion must-haves this summer:

House of Style is my go-to store! I can't wait to see their selections of shorts and bikinis.

Mona Lisa Maxwell

The sheer dress is one of the most difficult pieces to wear, especially when it has cut-outs to the side like this unusual design from House of Style that Maxwell wore to the launch of one of summer's most anticipated events. She balanced the hues of green and white from the dress perfectly with black wedges that she also snagged at House of Style.
