MANY of us are guilty of doing crazy things in the name of love, that we now look back on and laugh or cringe about.
When emotions are fuelled by love or anger, they often cloud common sense, and some of the actions that follow are sometimes downright incredible or insane.
This week All Woman asked readers to share the craziest things they have emailed or texted their exes, and this is what was shared.
Winston R, 27:
My ex broke up with me because she said she didn't want to have another child. She already had a teenage daughter and thought that another child would stymie her professional development. I was 26 and I didn't have any children and I had always envisioned myself fathering three. In trying to convince her to stay, I texted her over and over, trying to convince her and myself that I didn't mind not fathering a child. Luckily for me she saw through my lie and decided to end it anyway. I now thank her for not taking that text seriously.
Lisa C, 35:
I texted one of my exes whom I worked with and told him that I wanted to come to his desk and go down on him. Even though it was crazy, I never regretted the text. Afterwards, though, the company implemented a sexual harassment policy and I wondered if he had kept the text and would use it against me.
Sherene M, 30:
My ex and I were together for five years. When we broke up, I texted him and told him that my daughter was not his, even though the child was the spitting image of him.
Paula T, 38:
My ex is not the type to hide his phone from his girlfriends so when we broke up and I knew he was with someone else, I sent him a picture in the middle of the night that I had taken one day when we were making love. He thought I had deleted it. It was very explicit. I still wonder if his girlfriend saw it and what his explanation was since he never replied to me. I always worry though that it may turn up on the Internet.
Charmaine D, 31:
When my ex and I broke up I placed some things on Facebook blasting the size of his member and how he had no use in bed. I even posted a picture of him so everyone could see who I was talking about while also telling other women to avoid him since he was only good at tickling. I really regretted it after but at the time I was very angry. He hates me terribly now and has never spoken to me again.
Jaime C, 32:
When my ex and I broke up I was very, very hurt, especially when he found a new girlfriend soon after. I emailed him and told him that I would cut his throat and that of the girl's and that he should watch his back. Needless to say he reported me, and was successful in getting a protection order, though I was only venting. I sounded like a crazy woman.
Paula W, 28:
When my guy ended things with me earlier this year, I sent him a bunch of messages professing my undying love. It was mushy and embarrassing, and I promised to do anything he wanted if he took me back. The worse thing is that I was only lonely and didn't mean any of it; I just wanted to continue a relationship with him until I found someone else. Now he goes around thinking that I love him.
