THEY say with years come maturity, and if you want to be treated a certain way while dating, you should be cognisant of the age of the person you're courting.

"Men also mature slower than women do, so a man in his late 20s may have the maturity of a woman in her late teens," counsellor Anna Belnavis said. "A young man, for example, won't have the resources to take you to a five star hotel for a weekend or for a summer abroad, so if these are your expectations during courtship, you may be disappointed.

"Also, an older man may not have the interest in partying that you do, so depending on what you want, you have to choose your date accordingly."

Below a few men in the different age ranges give their idea of the perfect date.

Early 20s

Daniel W, 20:

I would take her to the park to chill out and then to the movies afterwards.

Alfred S, 23:

We could chill at my place and play video games or watch Netflix.

Junior, 25:

Party, party, party... every weekend.

Clarence, 22:

We could play dominoes at my place and drink some beer.

Late 20s, early 30s

Dwayne M, 28:

It depends on the type of girl and what you want from her. Suppose you're just interested in the physical? Then you'd take her out for fast food and you'll know she's good with that. But if it's a real girlfriend you're looking you know you have to wine and dine her properly.

Gregory B, 29:

Mi fren yard!

Rohan D, 27:

To the movies then somewhere nice for dinner.

Ed H, 32:

I'd take her out for drinks.

Late 30s, early 40s

Glen T, 37:

A sports bar. You can go to a sports bar and have a nice meal, nice wine, and just get to know each other.

Markland H, 39:

I would get a day pass to a nice hotel and spend the day there.

Errol B, 38:

A nice Chinese/Italian restaurant. Or even a hotel for lunch.

Late 40s, 50s

Lance, 48:

Ideally, if I have money, I would take her to a hotel down the country for a weekend for two. If she likes art I would take her to an art gallery.

Herbert R, 47:

A good clean play if she is into that. Otherwise, a place of her choice.

Trevor T, 57:

Waterfalls on a Thursday to listen to some nice old hits music and enjoy some nice food and drink.

Horace W, 45:

To Port Royal for fish then to a nice bar that's playing some old hits.
