Exercise options, nutrition for weight, skin and hair control, Yoga for fitness and meditation, vegetarian lifestyle and cooking tips, the science of aromatherapy - these are some of the workshops offered at the Forever Young: Health Fitness and Rejuvenation expo scheduled for the Hilton hotel on April 9 and 10, 2005.,/B>
In addition to the over 10 workshops and presentations, special offers like bone density tests at half price ($1,500); free hair consultations, body mass index tests, facials and manicures will also be available. Over 20 booths will add to the event, offering tastings, goods for sale, information and samples.
What is Forever Young?
"It's an expo which caters to the growing interest in wellness plus other areas, and offers information to guide choices as individuals seek to embrace healthier lifestyles. Each year we choose at least one health focus - this year it is menopause and weight gain," said Marcia Sepaul, managing director of Corporate Services Ltd organiser of the event She explained that while two topics - menopause and the session on Plastic Surgery: Your Answer to Rejuvenation by Dr Guyan Arscott - were geared to older women, all the other topics were relevant to persons of all ages. "Weight gain is becoming more prevalent in children as they spend more time with computers and television instead of at play. In adults, the picture is similar, weight gain is a big concern for males and females of all ages. Our skin care session looks at problems in the teen years and well beyond and provides advice for all ages," Sepaul said.
She explained that while many people know of the virtues of healthy living, they were hindered from practising it sometimes by the lack of specific information.
"Much of this we know, what is not quite so basic is the how of it. How do we choose an exercise that is right for us? How do we stick to it, when exercising is such a chore for many of us? What about food and drink? What is healthy and what is not? How do we keep motivated? The questions are many," she said, while explaining that the workshop would be offering some viable solutions.
