Marlene Malahoo Forte named Young Global Leader
Monday, March 08, 2010
SENATOR Marlene Malahoo Forte, minister of state in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, has been honoured as a Young Global Leader (YGL).
The honour, bestowed each year by the World Economic Forum, recognises the most distinguished young leaders below the age of 40 from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.
The forum announced its list of 197 YGLs Wednesday in Geneva, Switzerland, which comprises representatives from 72 countries in the fields of business, civil society, social entrepreneurs, politics and government, arts and culture, and opinion and media.
As an honouree, Malahoo Forte is invited to join The Forum of YGL as an active community member. The YGL community forms a unique global network of peers from diverse backgrounds and fields, with a highly visible opportunity to significantly impact world affairs and shape the global agenda.

Cliff Hughes taak to her of Nationwide. She sounded very bright, passionate and knowledgeable.
Can we get 100 more young folks like this lady willing to enter into politics and head institutions such as the JCF, the hundreds of Boards and Parastatals that Jamaican Citizens depend on daily?

It would be useful for a young reporter to have a sit-down with this lady and give readers an insight on her early years, assuming of course that this has not been done but I missed it.
As much as possible we need to 'bottle and sell' these success stories in a land where too many role models are criminal dons and foul-mouthed DJ's.
