'Just' The Thing
Thursday, August 23, 2012
The slate-gray, pregnant clouds last Tuesday afternoon suddenly give way. A furious downpour sends us ducking for cover under the covered deck at the recently relocated eatery, Just Salads, mere moments after we arrive at their Phoenix Avenue location. The restaurant's manager, Joan Stone, is a tad tentative in her welcome, given that we've shown up unexpectedly, but soon warms up to us and proves an engaging host.
Relocated from their original Lady Musgrave Road location for a week now, Stone's modus operandi at her establishment is to-the-point: "offering customers salads with a difference."
"It's not just your green salads, you get your sides of sweet potato, pastas, yams and breadfruit with varied meat choices," the manager explains to Thursday Food.
Chicken - no-fat breast tenders grilled and sautéed in ten different ways- and seafood, which includes smoked marlin, grilled salmon crab backs, comprise the meat components of the salads on offer at Just Salads.
All the salad options, Stone notes, have nine elements: lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, a fruit choice, cheese, string beans, corn, sides, and a meat option.
Why not consider a healthy lunch date out?
