Cannonball Café

Cannonball Café is still in expansion mode, opening its fourth outlet last month at the trendy Sovereign North. "We always keep our eyes open for locations and [the new location] is a modern, attractive plaza with great parking and it is 'on the beaten path' for many of our target clientele," operator Tara Abrahams-Clivio shared with Thursday Life.
The café brand, which got off the ground a decade ago, is a two-woman enterprise run by Abrahams-Clivio and her business partner Wendy Facey. Positioned in three other locations in Manor Park Plaza, the Barbican Centre and the 3M Building in New Kingston, the owners view Cannonball as substantially more than an upscale café to enjoy a cup of coffee or smoothie, and breakfast or lunch for that matter.
"Cannonball is a place where relationships are built, where business ideas are born, where ideas and opinions are shared, where hard work is done during the day on a laptop and where friends have a glass of wine and unwind at the end of the day," Abrahams-Clivio noted.
Whether regulars or first-timers, the café offers a mix of hot beverages that include cappuccinos, moccacinos, macchiatos and espressos. Cold beverages on order include iced coffee, virgin pina coladas, frappuccinos and iced chocolate. Meanwhile, those eager to tuck into eats have a spectrum of choices from the breakfast menu (think pancakes, full house omelettes, and waffles with bacon), and lunch-to-evening menu (quiches, soups, hamburgers, made-to-order pizzas, wraps and sandwiches).
"Our café is a small slice of life. Most of all, Cannonball is about friends, we enjoy watching friends get together and enjoy each other's company, and even watch as many friendships have been made." added Abrahams-Clivio. All the more reason to order another cup of latte and a brownie.
Cannonball Café is now open at Shop #8 at Sovereign North, 29 Barbican Road, Kingston 6. Telephone: 970-1532
Opening Hours: Sundays to Saturdays ¬- 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
