Fox's Fresh Food Basket
Foodie News
Thursday, January 07, 2010
Father-daughter duo Michael and Robyn Fox have teamed up to form the Food Basket, an online-based company that offers customers fresh, organic vegetables and herbs grown on the Newcastle hillside, which are delivered directly to your door.
In an interview with Thursday Food, Fox explained the concept behind the company: "The Food Basket is a direct-to-customer programme supplying a variety of local vegetables and herbs. Our pesticide-free produce is grown mainly in the hills of Newcastle, Jamaica. We do our best to follow organic procedures."
The selection at the Food Basket includes mixed greens, Asian salad, variations of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, escallion, thyme, Scotch bonnet pepper, sage, cucumber, string beans, leeks, basil, arugula, zucchini, carrots, turnip, celery and callaloo. Orders are filled at the beginning of the week based on the produce available.
Fox continued, "What makes the Food Basket unique is our quality and affordability as customers can benefit from free delivery services throughout Kingston."
The Food Basket's organically grown produce is available for both retail and household clients who can subscribe via e-mail or telephone. The company is an avid participant of Market At The Lawn. They also offer special-request services.
