Palm Court’s Culinary Wow

Thursday, January 21, 2010

The Palm Court restaurant, located on the upper level of the Hilton Kingston Hotel, although lacking in wow factor -- the design component leaves a lot to be desired -- save the impressive wine rack. What it lacks in chic appeal, however, it certainly makes up with its menu offerings. This is the place to enjoy exceptionally good food, expertly prepared by a culinary team led by Palm Court restaurant executive chef Garfield Victor.

What's good? Everything is, we kid you not, and we're thrilled to bits to bring you this news with our very first food review of the year.

What will keep you coming back for more are: Stone King Crab Claws (no need to wait for your next trip to Joe's in Miami) sautéed and served with aioli; the Aged (in-house) Certified Black Angus Beef drizzled with fresh truffle sauce (from 5oz to an 18oz Black Angus Porter House); and the Atlantic Salmon with spinach and lemon butter sauce.

The restaurant is currently open for dinner only from Tuesday to Saturday, 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm. The good news gleaned Saturday last, in-between mouthfuls of melt-in-your-mouth Aged Certified Black Angus Beef, is that the restaurant will in a couple of weeks open for lunch with seafood delights like tuna, oysters, mussels and lobster to enjoy alongside the Aged Certified Black Angus Beef.

No meal is complete without dessert, and as incredible as it might appear (don't worry, we're still pinching ourselves too) the Hilton Signature Cheesecake and chocolate parfait both rose to the challenge.
