The buzz is still on about the three weeks of Salut! events held between October 21 and November 10. In its final week, Salut! celebrated the wine and spirits importers and distributors by hosting a week-long wine tasting at Kingston wine spot - Bin 26 Wine bar. Last week we looked at the wines that were offered and now we highlight the Champagnes and sparkling wines that made each night a grand celebration.

Moët & Chandon Champagne - global leader in Champagne production - led the week's bubbly tasting, when Wray and Nephew poured Moët Impérial and Moët Rosé Impérial. Moët Impérial is the House's iconic champagne. Created in 1869, it embodies Moët & Chandon's unique style, a style distinguished by its bright fruitiness, its seductive palate and its elegant maturity. No one left until they tried these great Champagnes.

'Delicate and refined' is how some are describing France's favourite Champagne - Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Reserve. Offered by Betco Premier, the Champagne is now one of the best values in that product category in this market. Betco Premier also poured two other interesting Chilean sparkling wines laced with fresh fruit called NVY(pronounced envy). This sparkling wine actually has fruit pulp inside the bottle. Two flavours are available; NVY Passion Fruit and NVY Berries.

Guests enjoyed the relatively new Ruffino Prosecco from Select Brands. Released in 2011, this is the first time in the brand's history that a sparkling wine has been added to the extensive Ruffino portfolio, world-renowned for its award-winning Chianti wines.

Grace Foods poured three great sparkling wines for their audience on Friday - the refreshing Lunetta Prosecco and clean, fresh and fruity Lunetta Rosé both produced by Cavit, Italy, and from Washington State the pleasant, effervescent, tasty Domaine Ste Michelle Brut.

CPJ opened their evening with well-balanced dry, fresh, light-bodied Mionetto Prosecco Brut. After a great week of wine and Champagne tastings, CPJ ended the week with a toast to Salut! with the very radiant and crispy Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut Champagne.

Do consider these great bubblies for your celebrations in the coming festive season.
