The Scotiabank Foundation donated $4 million to the UWI's Centre for Marine Sciences Lionfish research programme and will support the national ‘Eat Them to Beat Them’ Lionfish control programme throughout the year. The finanical institution’s CEO, Bruce Bowen, and Professor Gordon Shirley (left), principal and pro vice chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Mona, both learned more about the Lionfish last Thursday at a cooking demonstration at Port Royal Marine Lab led by chef extraordinaire Jacqui Tyson.
