Sir Henry Fruit Cordial

SHELF TALK

Thursday, January 12, 2012

While browsing the supermarket shelves recently, we came across the Sir Henry Fruit Cordial, and instantly it brought back those childhood memories of enjoying home-made cordials on scorching summer afternoons.

The three-year-old brand of nonalcoholic fruit drink concentrate, distributed by Virginia Dare Jamaica Limited, remains a refreshing thirstquencher, with Sorrel, Fruit Punch and Pineapple Ginger among the flavours. Virginia Dare sales representative Jerome Mondle told Thursday Food: “This unique product combines the fine ingredients of natural fruit purées to produce a flavourful, refreshing fruit juice drink. Just add water and ice.” Other products from the company include a variety of syrups, food colourings, additives, and flavour extracts. The Sir Henry Fruit Cordials come in onelitre bottles that are priced by the distributors as follows: Sorrel $330, Fruit Punch $420 and Pineapple Ginger $412.

They may be purchased at Loshusan, Barbican Centre; Hi-Lo supermarkets and MegaMart outlets nationwide; and all Shopper's Fair supermarkets in the Corporate Area.
