VMBS Toasts Salut!

Thursday, November 03, 2011

Investing their support and appetites with the local catering community, Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS), one of the major sponsors for the Jamaica Observer's Salut!, hosted the first in a series of events for preffered clients in the boardroom of the company's corporate office on Half-Way-Tree Road, Tuesday last. Manager of public relations and corporate affairs at VMBS Clover Moore told Thursday Food that the Jacqui Tyson-catered luncheon -- which was a part of Salut! Dine In -- was simply to "fete some of our dearest clients and have them share with us any concerns they may have with the institution, so we may be better able to serve them". The nine guests were treated to a five-course lunch that was served promptly at noon. Thursday Food shares highlights.

Menu

Appetiser:

Seafood "Cappuccino" - Seafood and selected vegetables puréed to perfection to create a light, creamy cappuccino-style soup.

Pumpkin Soup - Vegetarian/Non-seafood

"Crêpe La Tropicale" - Delicate French-style savory crêpes filled with Julienne of roast chicken breast in light jerk crème sauce.

Sorbet à la "Bog Walk" - The juices of pineapple and passion fruit whipped into a smooth sorbet served topped with melon balls marinated in a passion fruit vodka.

Main Course:

"Seabreeze" Lamb Chops - A signature pan-seared lamb chops cushioned by a voul-au-vent filled with creamed potatoes and a sliver of market vegetables.

Orange Rubbed Salmon - Fillet of salmon grilled and served with an orange sauce.

Dessert:

A Trio of Dessert - A shot of Tiramisu meets the cheesecake lollipop and competes with the miniature lemon mousse tartlets drizzled with butterscotch toffee sauce for centre stage.
