Ratio 2K3 was good fun all night long

The Bad Company-promoted Ratio 2K3 party that was held at the Caymanas Polo Club on Saturday, December 27 was certainly a 'good to go' event for all ages and those with varying musical tastes. Because of its unique packaging and accommodation of three dance floors, the experience was certainly high energy.

Patrons, on entering the venue, were greeted with the loud bass and high pitch of rock, techno and alternative music courtesy of the Mile High Band and Fame FM's top jock Collin 'the Captain' Hines. The music was good and it kept pulses racing, hearts beating, bodies rocking and heads bobbing. Voila! The mood for partying instantly set in!

Not to be left out, the dancehall/hip hop dance floor which featured music by the Renaissance Disco, Copper Shot and DJ Liquid, increased the hype with some great selections. It was inhibited partying non-stop, as patrons grooved to every beat. Top tunes from Ludacris, 50 Cent, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man, and others kept this area of the party filled with sweaty bodies.

The more mature crowd (and some teeny boppers) were seen shaking a leg to the music of the 1970s and 1980s.

With Squeeze from Mega Jamz 98FM and the Sparkles Disco taking care of the musical requirements from the old school era, this floor appeared to be where all the fun-seeking patrons headed to, in search of musical satisfaction.
Dancehall favourites from Shabba Ranks, Capleton, and the disco/funk era held patrons captive until minutes after 4:00 am when weary bodies decided they had danced long enough.

Other good points about Ratio 2K3 were the security, easy flow of traffic into and leaving the venue and secure parking. Among those who we spotted having a good time were Rum Blood from Ward 21 and rising deejay Calico.

Shaggy and Rik Rok are number one on the New York Reggae chart

Shaggy and Rik Rok have scored their second number one song on the New York Reggae chart with their latest collaboration Your Eyes. Released on the Big Yard label's Salsa rhythm, Your Eyes has removed Beres Hammond and Jah Youth's Good Old Dancehall Vibes from the top of the chart.

The last time that Shaggy and Rik Rok were number one, was back in 2001 when It Wasn't Me spent multiple weeks atop the New York Reggae chart.

I'm Still in Love With You debuts onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart

Sean Paul's Dutty Rock album reels out another chart hit, as his latest single I'm Still in Love With You, enters at number 82 on the latest Hot 100 Billboard chart listing.

Made popular by Alton Ellis back in the 1960's, I'm Still in Love With You has been given a 2003 updating by Sean Paul and New York based - Jamaican born - singer/deejay Sasha. The song was first featured on the VP Records compilation album Old To The New, which was a tribute to producer Joe Gibbs.

I'm Still in Love With You is reportedly receiving steady rotation on North American radio stations. It is the fourth single from Sean Paul's double platinum-selling album to chart in the US. The other charted hits were Gimme the Light, Get Busy and Like Glue.
