Ghett' A Life on overseas run

Thursday, August 16, 2012

GHETT'A Life, the gritty Jamaican drama, will begin a British run today at the Peckhamplex Cinema in Peckham, South London.

Directed by Chris Browne (Third World Cop), Ghett'A Life next moves to cinemas in Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leeds.

The film, which screened at the 2011 CaribbeanTales Film Festival in Canada, will also be shown at the Albion Cinema in Toronto from August 27-September 2.

"The story was inspired in Jamaica by Jamaicans. The cast, crew and funding are all Jamaican," said Browne. "It was suggested to me that I should cast known, foreign actors to make the film more marketable but I wanted this film to feel authentic."

Ghett'A Life ran for three months in Jamaica.
