‘Fun fishing’ in Meadowbrook potholes
Monday, June 25, 2012
Dear Editor,
In an effort to have the roads in Meadowbrook repaired, we the citizens are planning a unique type of activity, rather than blocking roads and burning tyres.
Although never done before in Jamaica, kindly see the photo depicting the typical day of fun fishing we have planned. We propose to charge an entry fee of $300 per adult, $100 for children between 10 and 16 years, and no fee for children nine years and under. There will be an additional $100 per pound of fish caught and scaled. The date of the event will be announced shortly.
Patrons will also have the option to have their fish fried, escoveitched or brown-stewed. Sides of festival, bammy and hardough bread will also be on sale. These extras will attract at an additional charge.
Sodas, beer and hard liquor will be on sale too. Bring the family! There will be fun and games for the kids.
All the proceeds are in aid of the “Fix the roads in Meadowbrook project”.
Please note that the MP for the constituency, Mr Derrick Smith, as well as Mr Stephen Shaw and others from the NWA have been declared personae non gratae and will be barred from attending. Security – Rambo style! We look forward to seeing many there!
