Killings will stop when we hold each other accountable
Friday, August 03, 2012
Dear Editor,
I was saddened when I heard about the death of Dr Phillip Chamberlain and even more so when I heard of all the wonderful things he did for the Mandeville community and the country.
Dr Chamberlain could have provided his services elsewhere, but chose to do it in Jamaica. Evidently he had made a fatal decision. So here we are again, talking about the murder of someone who has done so much for the country.
We need to stop this carnage, and it will happen only when we begin to hold each other accountable. The least we can do is to arrest the murderers. I hope that the people in the community in which the killer is taking refuge will display some measure of decency and report the perpetrator.
