Sofia Vergara tops Forbes' list of TV's highest paid womenSaturday, July 21, 2012
Sofia Vergara has been named the highest earning woman on TV — just three years after landing her first major series. The Modern Family star beat reality star Kim Kardashian to top Forbes magazine's list of TV's highest paid stars. Colombian born Vergara, 40, earned $19 million in 2011 while Kardashian took in $18 million. The majority of Vergara's bumper pay day came from her business deals rather than her role as Latino mother Gloria on the award-winning show where she earns an estimated $100,000 an episode. While Modern Family brings in over $1 million a year Vergara scores with a clothing deal at Kmart and other lucrative endorsements, including deals with Pepsi and Burger King. She also has her own production company and has landed roles in several Hollywood films, including New Year's Eve. Vergara's rise to the top of the pay list has been nothing short of meteoric, having landed her first major series in Modern Family in 2009. Until that role she had been a bit part actress appearing in several TV shows, including Baywatch. As the Queen of TV Reality series, 31-year-old Kim Kardashian has used her fame to promote her clothing line as well as perfume that brought in $6 million, according to Forbes. Even a marriage that lasted less than three months has failed to dent her popularity and she has appeared on the cover of 63 magazines in the last 12 months. The series Keeping up with the Kardashians is worth $10 million a year. Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is third on the Forbes List with $15 million a year. She was paid $375,000 an episode for the final series of Housewives and has lucrative deals with Pepsi and L'Oreal.

Beyoncé reveals new blonde braids on day out with Blue Ivy
She rocked blonde braids during her Destiny's Child days and Beyoncé Knowles has now decided to revisit the look. The singer, who has favoured soft waves in recent times, debuted her newly plaited light locks while on a shopping trip to Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan last Wednesday. The 30-year-old, who was dressed in a patterned play-suit, twisted her tresses into a big bun on top of her head and finished off her look with big hoop earrings. She had daughter Blue Ivy cradled in her arms during the outing and the six-month-old has quite the head of hair too. The curly-haired cutie was stylishly dressed in pink pants and a floral top and onlookers were treated to a glimpse of her beautiful face as the pair browsed through the department store. Beyoncé and rapper husband Jay-Z welcomed their first child in January this year.

Hoping for a CK campaign? Mario Balotelli shows off his physique
He is believed to be on around £120,000 a week for his services to Manchester City, but it looks like Mario Balotelli is trying to launch himself a new career. The temperamental striker lapped up the sunshine and the attention from the ladies as he strutted around in just his briefs. The 21-year-old striker walked around outside his apartment in Ibiza, Spain, wearing a pair of tight purple underpants as he showed off his toned torso. The famously sulky footballer is never normally modest or shy, but he made sure he was adequately covered before leaving his apartment. The Italian international pulled on a pair of white Hollister beach shorts before deciding to slip out of the purple pants in favour of something more fashionable. Super Mario completed the next phase of his modelling aspirations by donning a pair of Emporio Armani boxer trunks, exactly like David Beckham once wore.
