Accused in New Kingston murders again remanded

THE man who allegedly butchered two men in New Kingston last month was on Friday again remanded into custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

Mark Sanguinette, of Cargill Avenue in St Andrew, is charged with the murders of Winston Ramsey, otherwise called "Avatar", and Jermaine Thompson.

Sanguinette was remanded into custody on Friday by Magistrate Georgianna Fraser and another mention date was scheduled for August 17.

According to police reports, the bodies of the men were found with multiple chop wounds in an open lot on Trafalgar Road on June 13 about 8:00 am. One was found with chop wounds to the head and hands while the other was found 12 feet away with chop wounds to the face and neck.

It is also reported that Sanguinette’s home was search the following day and bloody clothes and a machete believed to be the murder weapon were found.

Attorney Christian Tavares-Finson is representing the accused.
