Arnett Gardens coach ‘Tegat’ Davis resignsHOWARD WALKER firstname.lastname@example.org
KINGSTON, Jamaica - Paul ‘Tegat’ Davis has resigned as head coach of Arnett Gardens Football Club effective the end of November.
According to Jamaica Observer sources, following Arnett Gardens' 0-2 loss to Highgate United “it was the straw that broke the camel's back and Davis informed his superiors that he is calling it a day.”
Ironically, the man tipped to replace Davis at Arnett is Calvin Lewis who resigned from Highgate earlier this season.
Davis, 50, in his third season at the club after taking over in 2010, currently has led them to fifth in the league on 21 points. But it is understood that he is unhappy with the commitment of the players as well as other internal problems.
The former national striker will be heading home to St James, and sources say that he is set to coach a confederation team in the parish which has been courting him for some time.
Meanwhile, if Lewis is given the job he will be no stranger to the Arnett Gardens set-up, having had a previous coaching stint there.
