Sweet pepper warning!

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

THE police yesterday advised members of the public to be vigilant when purchasing sweet peppers following the theft of peppers Monday from a farm in Bonnett district, Guys Hill, St Catherine.

The Guys Hill police said a farmer reported that thieves reaped a large quantity of his sweet peppers which were sprayed with a chemical called Numectin, which is hazardous to human consumption. The product must be given sufficient time after being sprayed before reaping.
