Jamaica's Alia Atkinson dives off at the start of the first semi-final of the women's 100m breaststroke at the Aquatic Centre at the Olympic Park in Stratford, London, yesterday. Atkinson eventually tied for fourth place with 19-year-old Canadian Tera Van Beilen in 1 minute, 07:48 seconds, forcing a swim-off later in the evening, which she won in a new national record 1 minute, 06:69 seconds to earn a place in today's final.
