Jamaica Yellow Pages support Junior Achievers at 2012 JACE conferenceTuesday, July 10, 2012
THE Jamaica Yellow Pages (JYP) recently supported the second Annual Junior Achievement Company of Entrepreneurs (JACE) Conference 2012 under the theme 'Innovation and Technology,' in which 80 JACE students from over 28 schools and community-based organisations across the island participated.
The JACE Programme is aimed at building their skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness and gives these students' the hands on experience necessary to create and run their own business.
Marketing Manager at JYP Alleyne Graham stated: "The Jamaica Yellow Pages was pleased to partner with the JACE Conference and to share with our future business leaders the evolution of our company and how technology has helped us to be the market leaders in our industry."
The company had the opportunity to showcase their recently launched Mobile App — which is currently available to Apple and Android users, as well as to introduce their e-Marketing suite of products to the students during the session dubbed "Social Media and App World".
A step-by-step demonstration on the use of the App was delivered and this cemented the importance of innovation and technology and how it has helped to shape their current business model as well as the various platforms in which they provide information to their users.
The conference — which was hosted at the Rex Nettleford Hall, UWI Campus — included a series of seminars and workshops conducted by market leaders from various industries. An Entrepreneurial Expo, which was held on the South Lawn of Devon House, also gave the students the chance to showcase their newly formed companies to the panel of judges and general public. At the JACE Awards Ceremony which closed the conference, the Jamaica Yellow Pages awarded the "Best Marketing Team".
