Man arrested in Hope Gardens for illegal firearm

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Papine Police arrested a man for the illegal possession of a home-made firearm and ammunition in Hope Gardens yesterday evening.

Reports from the Papine Police are that about 5:47pm they responded to calls about a robbery by two armed men in progress on the Hope Gardens compound. On their arrival, they arrested one of the men and seized a homemade handgun with two 9mm rounds. His crony managed to escape.
