#CariftaGames: Jamaica cops five medals in morning session of day 2

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica copped three more gold medals, one silver and a bronze in the morning session of day two of the FLOW CARIFTA Games currently underway in Curacao.
Marie Forbes took the first gold medal for the day when she won the girls’ Under-20 discus with a throw of 43.62m. Her teammate Kimone Reid walked away with the silver medal with 40.39m.
Meanwhile, Sah-Jay Stevens was the winner of Jamaica’s third medal for the day with silver in the girls’ Under-18 shot put.
Despite four fouls, she managed a throw of 13.02m to place second behind Lacee Barnes of the Cayman Islands with 13.06m.
Teammate Fiona Richards, who broke the girls’ Under-20 discus record yesterday, was third in the event with a 12.80m throw.
And, Jamaica’s Carey McLeod won gold in the boys’ Under-20 long jump with a leap 7.62m ahead of The Bahamas Holland Martin and Enzo Hodebar of Guadeloupe both recording a jump of 7.33m but with a wind reading of -0.2 and 0.9 respectively.
McLeod’s teammate Ryan Brown was fourth with 7.23m.
