Sunday, August 05, 2012 | 12:51 PM
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Crashes that occurred days apart on the Norman Manley Boulevard in Negril, Westmoreland have claimed the lives of two youngsters, both motorcyclists.
They have been identified as 19-year-old Roberto Jarrett, of Whitehouse in the parish, and 21-year-old Fitzroy Higgins, of Welcome district, Hanover.
Reports from the Negril Police are that Higgins was pronounced dead at hospital about 10:25 pm Friday, August 3.
He was involved in a crash on Tuesday, July 31, in which the motorcycle he was riding collided with a Suzuki motor truck. Higgins and his pillion passenger sustained multiple injuries and were admitted at hospital, where he later died.
Jarrett was killed yesterday about 2:45 pm when the motorcycle he was riding towards Negril collided with a motorcar heading in the same direction.
Jarrett and his female pillion passenger were assisted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was admitted.
The Negril Police are investigating both incidents, and the drivers of both motor vehicles have since been served with warning notices.
