IT goes without saying that cities like Paris, Rome, Venice, Prague and Dubai are romance hotspots which, no doubt, will be seeing a lot of traffic today and over the Valentine's weekend. But what about Jamaica? Do we have a romance capital? Where is it? We let our readers have a say and it seems Ocho Rios/St Ann is the winner.

Bianca-Jade Cooper, 20, student

I think St Ann would be the perfect romance capital because it is a tourist resort. It has a lot of different attractions, hotels, parks, and places to go, including the famous Margaritaville, and persons would definitely want to spend their Valentine's Day there.

Lamar Forsythe, 30, security officer & Katherine Ellington, 24, nurse

We would name Ocho Rios, St Ann as the romance capital of Jamaica because of its romantic setting and beaches. Ocho Rios is fun and relaxes your mind from the everyday activities of Kingston. Kingston has Emancipation Park, Devon House and Hope Gardens as hangout spots, but we go there everyday, so if given the opportunity we would definitely go to Ocho Rios for Valentine's Day.

Keith Reid, 48, Electrical Engineer

No, I don't think Jamaica has a romance capital. I believe that if persons are interested in celebrating Valentine's Day they will just celebrate it wherever they are.

Danielle Ferguson, 19, student

I think it would be Ocho Rios, St Ann because it is known for tourist attractions, fun activities, beaches and restaurants.

Kadian Brian, 19, student

The romance capital would be Mobay, St James for me. Mobay has a lot of parties to go to, beaches, tourist attractions, art & craft and couples and singles are usually very excited to go to Mobay for the fun activities and get-away vibe that it brings.

Marshalee Douglas, 29, merchandising

I definitely think that Portland would be the place for couples on Valentine's Day mainly for the scenery, nice restaurants, fresh air, clean beaches and the relaxing vibes. I'm from Portland and the ambiance is just great there, especially Navy Island. It would be a great couple's resort for Valentine's Day.

Leonora Miller-James, 41, accountant

The romance capital would definitely be Ocho Rios, St Ann because of all the hotels and beaches and the romantic ambiance the parish has. This year couples have a whole weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day so Ocho Rios would really bring that get-away vibes.

Joedee Nugent, 19, sales representative

Yes, I think Jamaica has a romance capital and that would be Mobay, St James. I like it for its natural resources and romantic hotels. I have never been to Mobay, but this year we wanted to go out of Kingston for Valentine's weekend and so I surfed the Internet and choose Mobay for its beauty.

Our Facebook friends also weighed in:

Vivian Tyson: The one that records the least murder would the romance capital

Nackesha Maddix: Portland!

Samantha Edwards: Negril for the pocket-challenged; Portland for the rich

Ian Allen: I would say Portland, all over, the waterfalls are all romantic, rafting on the Rio Grande river, Boston Jerk, The Blue Lagoon to name a few places that would bring out the romantic feeling in most

Jennivie Wisdom: If sex=romance, then Negril.

Lisa Brown: I'm definitely staying in Negril when we come for Christmas. Thanks Jennivie lol

PryceeBoy Pryce: I would say the garden parish, St Ann. Specifically Ocho Rios. You have a good mix of everything in a somewhat friendly environment. If you have a little money, you can enjoy the luxuries or you can just be boasy pan a budget. Nice restaurants, beach, movie theatre, outdoor entertainment; the works.

Christine Bailey: I would say Ocho Rios...definitely....whether cashy or on a budget...with the right partner to romance....it's a go.
