11-month-old stabbed to death in St Elizabeth

BLACK RIVER, St Elizabeth - An 11-month-old baby was stabbed to death and her mother taken into custody in St Elizabeth yesterday.
Reports are that Sabrina Joseph, of Lewistown district in the parish, was killed in her home sometime before 1:00pm.
The child’s mother allegedly told a relative that the baby had been killed around 12:45pm. An alarm was raised and the police summoned.
Upon the arrival of the lawmen, the baby was found on the floor of her home with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The mother, who has not been identified, was taken into custody.
It’s not clear if charges have been laid against her.
The Black River Police are investigating the matter.
