WESTMORELAND, Jamaica -- An argument, which developed because a pit bull attacked and killed another dog in Westmoreland recently, almost turned deadly on Wednesday night.

A 19-year-old man is now in hospital nursing gunshot wounds, while another man is being sought by the police for allegedly doing the shooting.

Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that about 9:15 pm the suspect was walking a pit bull, which had allegedly killed a dog belonging to one of the 19-year-old's relatives, when an argument developed between the two.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, reportedly left the scene and returned with a firearm which he used to shoot the 19-year-old.

The police say the victim is in stable condition.
