KINGSTON, Jamaica — A total of 23,600 names have been added to the November 30, 2016 voters’ list which was published on December 31, 2016, the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) is reporting.
The list has 1,870,245 registered electors, representing a net increase of 21,233 over the 1,849,012 names on the previous list published on May 31, 2016. Only 2,367 names were removed.
ECJ explained that the 30-day delay was as a result of the November 28, 2016 Local Government Elections.
The Electoral Commission of Jamaica is engaged in continuous registration of electors and publishes an updated voters’ list twice per year. The next voters’ list will be published on May 31.
Individuals intending to have their names added to that list should apply for registration at an EOJ constituency office by March 31.
