3 firearms found, 2 men arrested

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Three firearms were seized and two men taken into custody during police operations in two parishes yesterday.

Two homemade firearms were found in an open lot in Montego Bay, St James at about 10:00am.

Reports are that lawmen were carrying out an operation in Friendship when the discovery was made.

No one was arrested in the find.

In the second incident, a property was searched in Old Harbour, St Catherine where a double-barrel shotgun was found at about 7:10pm.

Two men were taken into custody in connection with that find.

Their identities are being withheld further investigations.
