KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police in the Kingston West Division are reporting that they have seized a total 31 illegal guns since January 1 this year.

The police have also seized 960 rounds of ammunition over the same period in the community.

The last two guns were taken from the bodies of two men who were fatally shot by cops over the last two days, Senior Superintendent Terrence Bent, who heads the division, told the Jamaica Observer.

The police report that they snuffed out the life of Steve Scott also called 'Mouthy' at Chestnut Lane in Denham Town and seized a Glock pistol and 16 rounds of ammunition on Monday.

Scott is strongly suspected to be one of two men who pulled off a multi-million dollar heist at the Caymanas Park Race Track in St Catherine last month.

The other dead man, a resident of Little King Street also in Denham Town was killed at 14 Goffe Way in the community, and was a suspect in two murders which were being investigated by the Major Investigative Task Force.

A total of 33 guns and 605 rounds of ammunition were seized by the police over the same period last year.
