33-y-o vendor shot dead

DETECTIVES from the St Andrew South Police Division were up to press time last night still trying to establish a motive behind the killing of a man in Portia Simpson Miller Square, St Andrew, early yesterday.
The dead man has been identified as 33-year-old vendor Everick Stewart, otherwise called 'Ricky', of White Wing, Hagley Park Road, Kingston 11.
The Hunts Bay Police report that about 5:07 am, Stewart was on his way to a stall he operates in the vicinity of Portia Simpson Miller Square, when explosions were heard.
The police were alerted and on their arrival Stewart was found lying face down on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
