7 arrested after cocaine bust at Black River

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica - Seven persons are now in custody following a drug bust by the Marine Police, the Jamaica Defence Coast Guard, the Area Three Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division and the Customs Department yesterday.

Police report that a vessel was intercepted at Hendricks Wharf in Black River, St Elizabeth and over 20 kilograms of cocaine was found on board.

The drugs have a street value of just over 34 million dollars. 

Seven persons - four Jamaicans and three Guyanese - were arrested in connection with the seizure. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
