Seven policemen were injured yesterday in a motor vehicle crash close to Morris Meadows housing scheme in Portmore, St Catherine.

Police report that about 11:45 am, the cops were travelling in a marked pickup along Grange Lane when the crash occurred.

"The police van was travelling on the road and the JCF driver attempted to turn into Morris Meadows housing scheme. A truck that was travelling behind the vehicle attempted to overtake and that was when the crash took place," a sergeant from the Portmore Police Traffic Department told the Jamaica Observer.

"The policemen were all rushed to hospital," he added.

The conditions of the policemen remained unknown up to late yesterday.

The driver of the truck was being questioned up to press time.
