Accused porn man slapped with more charges

ACCUSED porn-site mastermind Ronald Oates had his $500,000 bail increased to $1 million Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court after he was slapped with new charges.
The 27-year-old was first offered bail last week court but before he could take up the bail offer he was hit with new charges under the Cyber Crimes Act and the Larceny Act.
However, he was on Tuesday granted bail by Magistrate Georgianna Fraser on condition that he report daily to the Rollington Town Police Station between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm and surrender his travel documents. A stop order was also placed on him. Oates was further warned to stay away from computers. The internet and high-tech cellphones.
Oates is accused of posting nude photographs of a number of Jamaican women on a website that he had created and extorting more than $100,000 from the victims after hacking into their emails, cellular phones and computers.
He is also accused of hacking into a man's e-mail and extorting money from him in order not to publicise the contents of the e-mail.
