Adventists elect new leaders for western region

Newly elected leaders of the West Jamaica Conference (WJC), from left, Pastor Astor Bowers, president; Pastor Edgar Grant, secretary; and Marion Barrett, treasurer at the WJC/s Third Quadrennial Session which was held at the Seventh-day Adventist Conference Centre in Montego Bay on the weekend. The new administration will give spiritual leadership to the work of the Adventist Church in that region for the next four years. A service of consecration is scheduled for Saturday for the the newly elected officers as well as several directors who were elected on the weekend. President of the Adventist Church in West Indies Union, Pastor Derek Bignall chaired the 21-man committee, that elected the new team of workers in WJC, which comprises the parishes of St Elizabeth, St James, Westmoreland and Hanover with 73,000 members in 202 congregations.
