All schools to close tomorrow
Tuesday, October 23, 2012 | 11:06 AM
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Education, acting on the advice of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), has ordered that all schools should be closed tomorrow.
This is in response to the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Sandy, which is expected to hit Jamaica within the next 24 hours.
The education ministry has instructed all schools to activate their emergency plans immediately.
Schools that function as disaster relief centres should also put in safekeeping all important documents and educational materials, the ministry said.
