Arscott speaks in sectoral debate today

THE sectoral debate resumes in the House of Representatives today, with a presentation by the Minister of Local Government and Community Development Noel Arscott.

Arscott is expected to update the House on a number of issues, including the local government reform process; the problem with the street lighting programme; the financial problems affecting the National Solid Waste Management Authority and the future of the Riverton City dump; as well as the improvements to the fire service.

Other speakers on today are: Ian Hayles, minister of state in the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change and Government backbencher Andre Hylton.

On Wednesday, the speakers are: Attorney General Patrick Atkinson; Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce Sharon Ffolkes Abrahams; and Opposition spokesman on Labour and Social Security Pearnel Charles.
