MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Southern Parks and Markets (SPM) has assured that residents in Mandeville and environs affected by delays in garbage collection should see the situation returning to normal as of today (June 17).

The affected areas include: Royal Flat, Newport, Woodlawn Housing Scheme, Waltham, Georges Valley, New Green Road, Old Kendal Road, Guildford Gardens, Sunset Avenue, Old England, Brokenhurst, Albion, Cedar Gardens and Ingleside.

“The delay in collection is caused by unforeseen challenges that the region encountered with the trucks assigned to collect solid waste in these communities. Additional units are now being utilised in these areas in order to clear the current state of backlog,” SPM stated in a release.

“… backlogged areas which are scheduled for collection between Sunday and Wednesday will receive collection on their scheduled days,” the release added.

SPM urged residents who continued to experience non-collection of solid waste to contact the office at 962-3270/362-0935/ 625-1686 or email spmpr@nswma.gov.jm.
