KINGSTON, Jamaica — Stabroek News has reported that an operation yesterday led by the Drug Squad at the Bridgetown Port has netted four packages of cannabis (ganja).

They said the police seized the packages weighing about 38 pounds, which were found in two drums supposed to contain fuel.

According to the report, three containers, which arrived from Jamaica on Thursday August 23, were searched.

“In one of the containers, two racing cars along with a number of drums said to contain fuel were found.  In two of these drums, the illegal drug was discovered,” stated a release from the police.

“As part of the Force’s on-going eradication efforts, the Drug Squad continues to carry out operations at the ports of entry” the release added.

The container, motorcars and drums have been seized pending further investigations.
