Be careful with licence disc stickers – tax dept
Jamaica Observer
Tuesday, February 09, 2010
The Tax Administration wishes to again remind motorists, that a new security feature was added to the motor vehicle licence disc (sticker) several months ago. As a result no attempt should be made to remove the sticker, once affixed to the windscreen of your vehicle or the word “VOID” will appear.
The sticker will be made invalid if the word “void” appears and motorists will be required to replace the invalid sticker at a cost of $500, once it has been presented at any tax office.
Persons are therefore advised to carefully read the instructions at the back of the disc, and exercise every precaution when mounting the registration sticker on the windscreen of their vehicle.
Persons may contact the nearest tax office or the Tax Administration Customer Care Centre at 1-888-TAX-HELP (1-888-829-4359) for further information.
