KINGSTON, Jamaica – Grand Bahama recorded its sixth murder after a British man was shot dead by three masked armed robbers Tuesday in front of family members, including his 13-year-old son.

Dead is 56-year-old Edgar Dart.

Media reports are that the incident occurred at Dart’s mother’s luxury villa at Emerald Bay on the island, after the farmer and businessman challenged the intruders, who threatened his son after breaking in.

Reports are that family members were bound with duct tape after which the thieves escaped with cash and jewellery.

The murder, which has been confirmed by the police, brings to 30 the total since the start of the year in The Bahamas.
