Buchanan predicts PNP sweep of Westmoreland
SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland — Luther Buchanan, the People’s National Party (PNP) deputy general secretary in charge of field operations is this afternoon predicting another clean sweep of the parish of Westmoreland in today’s local government polls.
“We are comfortably ahead and I am sure that we will win all the divisions in the parish,” said Buchanan, who is also the Member of Parliament for Eastern Westmoreland.
In the 2007 polls the then Opposition PNP won all the 14 divisions in the parish.

Meanwhile, Buchanan told the Observer that voter turn our in the parish has been very low.
But this he argued, is in keeping with the expected turn out.
“Coming off the heels of a victory in the general elections it is usually a challenge to get our supporters to go out and vote,” he said.
